Dr. Martin C. Wittig

Martin C. Wittig (born in Germany in 1964) is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He was elected to this position by the Partners in July 2010. Since July 2003 he has been a member of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' Executive Committee (EC). Before he was elected CEO in 2010, he had served as the company's Chief Financial Officer.

Martin C. Wittig studied mining engineering and business administration at the RWTH Aachen, completing his degree in 1990. He did a Ph.D. with summa cum laude in engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. Before and during his studies Martin worked for nearly two years as an ordinary worker in the mining industry. After graduation he worked as lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin and in Project Finance for the mining industry before joining Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in 1995.

Martin C. Wittig was appointed Associate Partner in 1999 and was elected Partner in 2000. In January 2001 he became Managing Partner and Director of Roland Berger's Zurich office which he build from scratch to a number 3 position in the market. He was elected by the Partners to the Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' Executive Committee in July 2003 and reelected for a second term in December 2006.

He is an expert in corporate finance and turnaround management. His industry focus is financial services and transportation/tourism.

Martin Wittig is a visiting lecturer at the University of St. Gallen as well as the Honorary Consul for Germany in Switzerland.

Martin and his wife Susanne are engaged in multiple social and cultural engagements such as Ashoka Switzerland, Right to Play, the Swiss Institute for Arts Research or the Fotomuseum Winterthur.

Susanne and Martin Wittig have twin boys. They live in Herrliberg near Zurich in Switzerland.
